#Fukushima #Israel #Sabotage

A leading Japanese journalist recently made two incredible claims about the Fukushima power plant that suffered a nuclear meltdown in March 2011, sending shockwaves around the world.
First, the former editor of a national newspaper in Japan says the U.S. and Israel knew Fukushima had weapons-grade uranium and plutonium that were exposed to the atmosphere after a massive tsunami wave hit the reactor.

Second, he  contends that Israeli intelligence sabotaged the reactor in retaliation for Japan’s support of an independent Palestinian state.

According to Yoishi Shimatsu, a former editor of Japan Times Weekly, these nuclear materials were shipped to the plant in 2007 on the orders of Dick Cheney and George W. Bush, with the connivance of Israeli Prime Minister Ehud more

#Fox #Foxgate - Revealed: the link between Liam Fox donors and Tory HQ

Adam Werritty funded by businessmen introduced to former defence secretary by party treasurer

The Liam Fox affair has reached the Conservative party's high command for the first time after it was confirmed that its leading fundraiser introduced donors to the former defence secretary, who then introduced them to his best man, Adam Werritty.

In a blow to Downing Street's central tactic of distancing itself from Fox – saying that he was operating in his own way – the Conservative party admitted that its senior treasurer was the conduit for donors to the former defence secretary.

Howard Leigh passed on the details of donors who wished to support Fox's campaign during the 2005 Tory leadership contest. They were later persuaded by Fox to give money to organisations that supported Werritty, according to a source, and some of the money was spent visiting Fox on lavish trips abroad. Leigh was one of party's treasurers at the time.

The disclosure is an embarrassment for the Tories and will pose further difficult questions for Fox, who has been told that he faces a parliamentary inquiry into his behaviour and Werritty. In his resignation statement in the Commons, Fox attacked the media for pursuing more

#Pentagon Papers: Wall Street - Biggest Scam In World History Exposed...

What if the greatest scam ever perpetrated was blatantly exposed, and the US media didn’t cover it?

Does that mean the scam could keep going? That’s what we are about to find out.

I understand the importance of the new WikiLeaks documents.

However, we must not let them distract us from the new information the Federal Reserve was forced to release. Even if WikiLeaks reveals documents from inside a large American bank, as huge as that could be, it will most likely pale in comparison to what we just found out from the one-time peek we got into the inner-workings of the Federal Reserve.

This is the Wall Street equivalent of the Pentagon Papers.

I’ve written many reports detailing the crimes of Wall Street during this crisis.

The level of fraud, from top to bottom, has been staggering.

The lack of accountability and the complete disregard for the rule of law have made me and many of my colleagues extremely cynical and jaded when it comes to new evidence to pile on top of the mountain that we have already gathered. But we must not let our cynicism cloud our vision on the details within this new information.

Just when I thought the banksters couldn’t possibly shock me anymore… they did. more

#Fox Warned On #Werritty Relationship...

#Gould and #Werrity Relationship

British Ambassador to Israel Matthew Gould has refused to answer my questions about his relationship with Werritty. With multiple Whitehall sources having pointed first me and then the Guardian, Times, Mail and Independent to a link between Fox-Werritty and Mossad, this refusal is unacceptable. Just what was the Ambassador’s relationship with Werritty and how much did he know?
This is the reply I received to my questions to Matthew Gould:
As the Prime Minister made clear in the House of Commons on Wednesday, the matter is being looked into by the Cabinet Secretary who is producing a report. We are working with the Cabinet Office on this and cannot prejudice its outcome by commenting in advance.
But I was not asking Gould for opinions, but rather for a series of simple facts. Knowledge of the facts of the case cannot prejudice a report – unless the purpose of the report is to be extremely selective about the facts allowed to come out.
These are the questions I put to Matthew Gould: read more

"When I say this, it means that he has no more than two years left. Judging by the information from his family, Chavez has a tumor in his pelvis, or sarcoma, and this is why he is receiving such aggressive chemotherapy treatment," the surgeon said in an interview with Mexican Milenio Semanal more

#Fox Resignation Exposes Tory Links To US Radical Right

Labour and Lib Dem politicians have stepped up demands for the PM to explain ministers' involvement with Atlantic Bridge
Liam Fox, right, and David Cameron, who is being accused of allowing a secret rightwing agenda to flourish within the party. Photograph: Tim Ireland/PA
David Cameron has been accused of allowing a secret rightwing agenda to flourish at the heart of the Conservative party, as fallout from the resignation of Liam Fox exposed its close links with a US network of lobbyists, climate change deniers and defence hawks.

In a sign that Fox's decision to fall on his sword will not mark the end of the furore engulfing the Tories, both Liberal Democrat and Labour politicians stepped up their demands for the prime minister to explain why several senior members of his cabinet were involved in an Anglo-American organisation apparently at odds with his party's environmental commitments and pledge to defend free healthcare.

At the heart of the complex web linking Fox and his friend Adam Werritty to a raft of businessmen, lobbyists and US neocons is the former defence secretary's defunct charity, Atlantic Bridge, which was set up with the purported aim of "strengthening the special relationship" but is now mired in controversy.

An Observer investigation reveals that many of those who sat on the Anglo-American charity's board and its executive council, or were employed on its staff, were lobbyists or lawyers with connections to the defence industry and energy interests.

Others included powerful businessmen with defence investments and representatives of the gambling industry.

Fox's organisation, which was wound up last year following a critical Charity Commission report into its activities, formed a partnership with an organisation called the American Legislative Exchange Council. The powerful lobbying organisation, which receives funding from pharmaceutical, weapons and oil interests among others, is heavily funded by the Koch Charitable Foundation whose founder, Charles G Koch, is one of the most generous donors to the Tea Party movement in the US.

In recent years, the Tea Party has become a potent populist force in American politics, associated with controversial stances on global warming.

Via a series of foundations, Koch and his brother, David, have also given millions of dollars to global warming sceptics, according to Greenpeace.

Labour said it wanted to know how, in 2006, when David Cameron travelled to Norway for his famous photo opportunity with huskies to promote his new-look party's "green" policies, his senior colleagues were cosying up to US groups that were profoundly sceptical about global warming.

Writing in the Observer, the shadow defence secretary, Jim Murphy, said the Tories still had many questions to answer and claimed that "while David Cameron's compassionate conservatism has been undermined by his actions at home, it could be further damaged by connections overseas".

Murphy writes: "With each passing day there have been fresh allegations of money and influence and it appears that much of the source was the Atlantic Bridge network and its US rightwing connections.

We need to know just how far and how deep the links into US politics go.

This crisis has discovered traces of a stealth neocon agenda.

For many on the right, Atlanticism has become synonymous with a self-defeating, virulent Euroscepticism that is bad for Britain."

Fox resigned on Friday after admitting that he had allowed his friendship with Werritty, a lobbyist who portrayed himself as an adviser to the defence secretary, to blur his professional and personal interests. His resignation followed a drip-feed of revelations about the links between Werritty and businessmen and organisations with defence interests.

The revelations over Atlantic Bridge have triggered questions about the role played by Fox, chair of the charity's advisory council, and that of four of its UK members: William Hague, George Osborne, Chris Grayling and Michael Gove.

As a UK charity, the organisation enjoyed tax breaks but had to comply with strict rules prohibiting it from promoting business interests.

The charity's political agenda, which it articulated in conferences devoted to issues such as liberalising the health sector and deregulating the energy markets, chimes with the thinking of many on the right of the Conservative party whom Cameron has been keen to check as he holds the Tories to the centre ground of British politics.

Lib Dem peer Lord Oakeshot said: "Dr Fox is a spider at the centre of a tangled neocon web.

A dubious pattern is emerging of donations through front companies. We need to establish whether the British taxpayer was subsidising Fox and his frontbench colleagues.

What steps did they take to ensure Atlantic Bridge didn't abuse its charitable status?"

Werritty, the group's UK director, was funded by a raft of powerful businessmen including Michael Hintze, one of the Tories biggest financial backers whose hedge fund, CQS, has investments in companies that have contracts with the Ministry of Defence; Poju Zabludowicz, chairman of the Britain Israel Communications and Research Centre, who chairs a US munitions company; and the Good Governance Group, a private security firm set up by a South African businessman, Andries Pienaar, who also has an investment firm, C5 Capital, focused on the defence sector.

The potentially explosive mix of big business interests and politicians that triggered Fox's demise is the subject of an investigation by the cabinet secretary, Sir Gus O'Donnell. Murphy said it was essential that the government then referred the wider issues to Sir Philip Mawer, the independent adviser on ministers' interests. "He should look at the issues in their entirety to establish precisely how this never happens again," Murphy said.

Questions are being asked over the role played by an organisation called the Sri Lankan Development Trust, whose headquarters were listed at the Good Governance Group.

The trust paid for three of Fox's trips to Sri Lanka. In a statement the group said: "Our involvement with the Sri Lankan Development Trust was not done for profit or at the behest of any clients."

Arriving at the Ministry of Defence to take up his new role in charge of the department, Philip Hammond, the new defence secretary, said Fox had "done a great job".

#Goverment #FOX #Blackmail :#Government weighs into 'blackmail' row over 3M and MRSA test

Alleged threat to knighthood for 3M chief executive could lead Ministry of Defence to sue private equity boss
The Ministry of Defence has weighed into the 'blackmail' row between 3M and Porton Capital, saying that Liam Fox, above, had not discussed George Buckley's knighthood with Harvey Boulter. Photograph: Omar Sobhani/Reuters
The government has distanced itself from a private equity boss for threatening to use his political muscle to "blackmail" the head of one of America's biggest companies.

The Ministry of Defence stepped back after Harvey Boulter, chief executive of Porton Capital, allegedly claimed he would use his government influence to interfere with a knighthood awarded to the British-born chief executive of Post-it note maker 3M.

Boulter suggested he had the backing of the defence secretary, Liam Fox, when he allegedly demanded 3M pay $30m (£18.5m) from 3M to settle a long-running court case over disputed payments for potentially life-saving MRSA technology part-owned by the MoD.
According to 3M's lawyers, Boulter told them that if the case were not settled out of court, the government might reconsider a knighthood recently awarded to George Buckley, 3M's chief executive officer.

The US firm has launched a countersuit accusing Porton Capital and Boulter personally of "blackmail".

The MoD has refused to rule out launching its own legal action against him, for bringing the government into disrepute.

"Dr Fox met with Mr Boulter to discuss an entirely different matter. At no point did he enter into any discussion about this legal case, nor was there any mention of anyone's knighthood," the MoD said.

The legal battle centres on emails Boulter sent to 3M lawyers 10 days ago.

"As a result of my meeting [with Liam Fox, the defence secretary] you ought to understand that David Cameron's cabinet might very shortly be discussing the rather embarrassing situation of George [Buckley]'s knighthood," Boulter said in the first email [see footnote]. "It was discussed today. Governments are big and sometimes decisions in one part are not well co-ordinated."
When 3M did not respond to the apparent threat, Boulter sent a second email demanding an answer within 12 hours.

The emails form the basis of 3M's lawsuit against Porton Capital, and Boulter personally. "Instead of awaiting the outcome of the pending litigation, defendants and their investors have engaged in an unlawful campaign to blackmail 3M into paying $30m in order to avoid the continuation of the campaign by which defendants seek to publicly defame 3M and its chairman and chief executive, and to tortiously interfere with 3M's legitimate business pursuits in the UK," 3M said in its legal filing.

The legal action by 3M is a countersuit to one from Porton that claims 3M owes up to £41m for MRSA technology part-owned by the MoD.

    Boulter refused to comment.

    • This article was amended on 15 July and 14 October 2011 to remove text that suggested the government had attacked Harvey Boulter, chief executive of Porton Capital. This has been corrected. In addition the following clarification was appended: In the story above, reporting the background to a legal dispute between an investment company, Porton Capital and US conglomerate, 3m, we quote an email from Harvey Boulter, Porton's chief executive, to William Brewer, a lawyer acting for 3m: "As a result of my meeting [with Liam Fox, the defence secretary] you ought to understand that David Cameron's cabinet might very shortly be discussing the rather embarrassing situation of George [Buckley]'s knighthood". Boulter has contacted us and asked us to state that the meeting at which Buckley's knighthood was discussed was not the one with Fox but was at another meeting he had that day connected to the dispute.

#Fox #Werritty - Tied Up And Knotted BUT By Whom ?

a case history in favour of radical reform

Tied up and knotted…but why? And by whom?

Liam Fox and his chum Adam Werritty made a lot of enemies over time. As well as investigating any corruption in their partnership, we need to find out who orchestrated their removal from the game. There is no shortage of candidates: but whatever happens, this is another saga screaming out for reform of the way Britain does things.

The BBC seems to have something of a scoop this morning:

‘Mr Fox resigned after a week of pressure over his working relationship with his friend, Adam Werritty. He has been replaced by Philip Hammond. ‘

This story gets odder and odder. Poor Fox resigns because his best man is a gay prop-forward with contacts in Israel and America, and then finds himself ordered to pal up with Phil Hammond instead.

In some ways, Liam might find his new friend quite useful. As a bloke interested in work and pensions as a subject, he should be able to advise the ex-Defence Secretary on any wrongful dismissal action. Hammond also quite fancies a job in the Treasury or at Health, so he could offer free consultancy on interesting new (and infinitely more healthy) ways to raise money for a partner. But somehow, I can’t see the two of them getting on....more at the SLOG

On 12 July 1964, the UK's Sunday Mirror had a front page story with the headline: "Peer and a gangster: Yard probe."

The Sunday Mirror reported that police were investigating an alleged homosexual relationship between a "prominent peer and a leading thug in the London underworld".

The peer was Lord Boothby and the gangster was Ronald Kray.

The UK's Lord Boothby was involved with Jewish gangsters, the Kray Twins, who reportedly rented out young boys, some of whom reportedly ended up dead. (

In July 1964, when the Sunday Mirror had its story about the Lord and the gangster, Lord Boothby was on holiday with Colin Coote.

Colin Coote worked for MI6 and was a very close friend of Roger Hollis the boss of MI5.

Colin Coote was also editor of the UK's Daily Telegraph.

The key figure within MI5 and MI6 was Lord Victor Rothschild, who reportedly gave away secrets to Israel.

Why did the UK politicians, intelligence services and media cover-up the Boothby case?

Defence secretary accused of running 'maverick foreign policy' in Sri Lankan Development Trust dealings involving Adam Werritty
Liam Fox faced fresh accusations of running a shadow foreign policy after it emerged he was involved in setting up a private investment firm to operate in Sri Lanka in apparent contravention of UK government policy, with his controversial friend Adam Werritty as its key contact.

The defence secretary was intimately involved in negotiations with the Sri Lankan regime a

The trust was a venture designed to rebuild the country's infrastructure using private finance with a sideline in charitable projects for Tamil communities.

Labour urged the government to come clean on Fox's work in Sri Lanka and whether it might have contravened the government's official policy, while a senior Whitehall source said the minister had been operating a "maverick foreign policy" and it is this that will ultimately decide his political more

This information comes straight from a source with direct access to the Cabinet Office investigation into Fox’s relationship with Werritty.

Gus O’Donnell, Cabinet Secretary, has fixed with Cameron the lines of his investigation to allow him to whitewash Fox. This will be done by the standard method of only asking very narrow questions, to which the answer is known to be satisfactory. In this case, the investigation into Werritty’s finances will look only at the very narrow question of whether he received specific payments that can be linked directly to the setting up of specific meetings with Fox. The answer is thought to be no; that is what Fox was indicating by his extraordinary formulation to the House of Commons that Werritty was “not dependent on any transactional behaviour to maintain his income” more

#Fox #Werritty AND The Gals Who live their Lives As Beards.

A girl’s guide to her boyfriend’s sexual orientation

Women, regardless of sexual orientation, who publicly pose as the girlfriend or wife of a closeted gay man are called “beards.” I have been a loyal beard for the better part of my adult life, so I know a bit about the timid gay man who fears societal unacceptance. Given my experience, I’ve developed some pretty stellar “gay-dar.” I feel that my insider knowledge may help sound warning bells to the Jills on campus who have no idea they’re merely a beard for their Jack. Below are some clues:

    1) Your man has always made every excuse to avoid intimacy, even when the relationship was new. This one is pretty obvious, but you wouldn’t believe the number of women who willfully wear blinders to avoid tackling the issue head-on. She might reason that, indeed, he is always “just tired” or that he still, after eight months, needs “more time” to get to know her first. (Mmm-hmm, sure.) Listen, girl: I know there are viable reasons that could prevent your man-who isn’t wearing a promise ring- from sleeping with you. Most likely, though, if you’re the only one in the relationship with any semblance of physical attraction, it’s symptom One of his gaiety.

    2) After the sad, few times you managed to get lucky, he avoided you afterward. It always seems like such a strain for him to touch you affectionately or to kiss you like he means it, doesn’t it? When he (perhaps after a glass or two of red wine) loosened up a bit and let “one thing lead to another,” he couldn’t dress fast enough when all was said and done. Hell, he might have even hit the brakes midway! At any rate, while you were still basking in the glow of his lovin’, he was scrambling for his keys. With some lame excuse (“I can’t use the distraction of sex in my life right now!” or “We disgraced our relationship by being tipsy while we were intimate!”), he doesn’t call or text you for a few days. Then his parents start asking where you went, leading us to our next clue:

    3) He is more affectionate with you around his parents and friends than he is  in private. Girl, this one should put a lightbulb above your head. When you’re on the couch in your dorm and you attempt to make out with Loverboy, his suddenly awkward body language throws a cold, wet blanket over the offer. When you straighten back up, he’s fine and game to resume talking about boring professors on campus. However, take him to TacoMac with a mutual group of friends and his passion for you is suddenly fiery. No one around you two could ever doubt the attraction. Ditto goes for a visit with the family: With all those smooches and looks of love, you’d think you were practically engaged-just as he wants it to appear. Sigh.

    4) Your man’s utter abhorrence for anything gay is egregiously overstated. When you mention the “giddy” guy in your class or recall a one-liner from “Will and Grace,” his disdain for the topic is so thick, it’s almost psychotic. This is so often an indicator of repressed homosexuality or bi-curiousness. Make no mistake: I know there are people in this world who are genuinely disgusted by the idea of same-sex coupling, sure. However, being that a hilarious percentage of my closeted pals’ liaisons were with men who, in high school and beyond, were ostentatiously repulsed and infuriated by gay men, flags go up when I meet loudmouthed, homo-hating bigots. Huge rainbow flags. I would put money on the fact that, because he’s so overtly and ridiculously enraged by (and perhaps even a little obsessed with) gay culture, he’s trying to pull an invisibility cloak over the shame of his own curiosity. Smirk all you like, Lady Turncheek. It happens every day.

Ladies, I understand that there are men out there who, for reasons not related to homosexuality, disagree with having lots of sex and/or doing so before marriage. If you’ve got one of these disciplined fellas, you know like I know he’s probably not gay. The same goes for women, though I will add that there are some out there who use love-stricken gentlemen for more agreeable social standings. Sadly, I know it well.

I’m not judging anyone who hides their “wayward” sexuality by dragging others into a deluded tangle of deception and self-loathing. I know it can be difficult to say the words aloud, my friend. Instead, I’m offering a little insight to unwitting beards on campus with frightened gay boyfriends who won’t come out. You’ll thank me later, girlfriend-perhaps after you take him shopping for skinny jeans.

Liam Fox's claim that Adam Werritty was operating in "a private capacity" when the men met twice in Dubai this year has been thrown into fresh doubt by hotel records seen by the Guardian.

They reveal that Werritty booked into the five-star Shangri-La hotel earlier this year describing his position as "office of Dr Liam Fox" and naming his company as "Atlantic Bridge", the defence secretary's controversial rightwing charity which had close links to a group of powerful American business lobbyists.

Hotel staff said it was normal, but not guaranteed, for the named company to pay all or part of the bill. Werritty also gave a contact address at the houses of parliament.

Liam Fox, Conservative shadow defence secretary, displayed homophobic credentials whilst at university, an investigation by the Sunday Herald has found.

The Tory MP, who stood against David Cameron in the 2005 Conservative Party leadership content, resigned as a member of the University of Glasgow’s student council in protest at a gay and lesbian society being admitted to the Glasgow University Union (GUU).

He apparently said at the time: “[I do] not want the gays flaunting it in front of me, which is what they would do”.

His stance was echoed by the then union president, Vince Gallagher, who said:
“We just do not want poofs in our union. I wish they would just bugger off and give us peace.”

Eventually the homophobic rhetoric of the president was condemned by the Student Representative Council (SRC), but this led to the resignation of Mr Fox.

He told the student newspaper: “I think it is obvious that the GUU speaks for the vast majority of students on campus.

“The SRC is totally unrepresentative and speaks only for minorities. I feel they are becoming a tool for the QM Queen Margaret Union.

“I’m actually quite liberal when it comes to sexual matters. I just don’t want the gays flaunting it in front of me, which is what they would do.”

In an interview in 2005, rumours of a gay past led to to Mr Fox saying: “I know that some people use smears and I have heard them for years. They’d say, Why are you not married? You must be a playboy or a wild man or gay,’ or whatever.

“Well, I’m getting married in December and I’m perfectly happy with my private life.”

Gay rights campaigner Peter Tatchell told the newspaper:

“This homophobic stance, while a student, seems to be part of a pattern of anti-gay prejudice that has continued right up until recent years.

“I am ready to forgive him and move on, but only if he makes a clear public statement expressing regret for his past homophobia.”

Fox yesterday said: “Fortunately most of us have progressed from the days when we were students more than a quarter of a century ago.”

We know we’re on safe ground calling former Tory leadership candidate and now Snooty Cameron’s Shadow Defence Secretary Liam Fox – MP for Woodspring – a liar because the Courts have already decided he is one. In 2004 he was successfully sued for libel by Labour MP Martin Salter and ordered to pay £60,000 damages.

But we can now exclusively reveal that Liam has also been spectacularly “economical with the truth” in carefully constructing – in romantic soft focus – an “Indiana Jones meets Cassanova” public image for himself.

Peter Hennessy wrote in the Daily Telegraph in 2005 that “Dr Fox has been dogged by persistent rumours about his sexuality – as is often the case with Tory ‘bachelors’ in their 40s. “But,” went on Hennessy, “He has now put this to rest by announcing his engagement to Jesme Baird.”

It’s amazing how Tory leadership contests – William Hague anyone? – bring out the need in candidates to propose to their “long-term” girlfriends to squash those gay rumours and keep up the family man image for the blue rinse brigade.

Now we don’t give a flying fuck about Dr. Fox’s sexuality – that’s his business. But the politically convenient proposal to Jesme fits in a pattern of using women – from Natalie Imbruglia to Mother Teresa – to further his political career.

Famously – because it was peddled to many newspapers – Liam Fox was “once linked to the singer Natalie Imbruglia”, was “romantically linked to Natalie Imbruglia”, was “seen out with Natalie Imbruglia”, “lists among his friends Natalie Imbruglia” and on and on. How did this unlikely pairing of the former Neighbours rock chick and Liam come about?

Well, according to Liam, he was sent a pre-release copy of Natalie’s first album and sent back a few helpful thoughts on the tracks he’d heard – as you do! Natalie was so delighted to be given such unsolicited singing tuition from someone she’d never heard of that she immediately gave him credits on the more

#Fox : Liam Fox #Charlatan Married To 'Prove' He Is not Gay ! (2005)

Liam Fox (pictured) the rightwing contender for the Conservative Party leadership has spoken for the first time about rumours of his gay past.

In an interview for the London Evening Standard he claimed that his impending marriage to Jesme Baird should mean an end to any gossip about his private life. However, he refused to deny that he might have had a gay relationship in the past.

Speaking to the Evening Standard he said, “I think that there are all sorts of smears going around and politicians should stick to issues. If someone accused me of doing something against the law I might feel bound to answer it. Otherwise I would have no comment to make. If you start getting into that, all sorts of areas open up and I think you are entitled to a private life.”
Dr Fox’s comments echo the position taken by the contest’s front-runner, David Cameron who refused to respond to questions relating to drug use in his youth.

Dr Fox slammed the smears as being inaccurate, saying, “I know that some people use smears and I have heard them for years. They’d say, ‘Why are you not married? You must be a playboy or a wild man or gay,’ or whatever. Well, I’m getting married in December and I’m perfectly happy with my private life and it remains my private life. It’s perfectly clear that Jesme and I are very much in love with each other. I’m not going into that smear territory, which people would love to get into instead of having a debate.”

However, at no point during the interview or in subsequent press conferences has Dr Fox denied ever having gay relationships, he has simply stated that there is no need to answer the questions as he and Dr Baird are in “a very happy relationship that we intend to take forward to the rest of our lives. I think that is as important and full a statement as you can make.”

In the past, Dr Fox voted against proposals to allow gay couples to adopt children and against the equalling of the age of consent. He did not vote on the Civil Partnerships Act.

In the 2001 Conservative Leadership contest, former Defence Secretary, Michael Portillo was forced to admit having had a gay relationship in the past and many observers pointed to the admission as being the prime reason for his failure to win the contest
